The V880 from VS Security Products is a professional, automatic tape degausser. The V880 degausser is equipped with an automatic conveyor belt and is suitable for erasing large numbers of magnetic tapes and cassettes.
The 15 cm wide conveyor belt carries tapes and cassettes at 10 cm/sec. over a double electromagnet with a maximum force of 5,100 Gauss. As a result, the magnetic media is erased quickly, efficiently and safely. By degaussing magnetic audio, video and data tapes, the existing magnetic signal is completely removed.
The V880 can be used for 20 minutes after which the unit automatically switches itself off for 10 minutes to cool down. After this, the unit can be used for 10 minutes. With this, the V880 has an erasure capacity of approximately 600 Beta SP tapes per hour.
