The ADR HDT1 Terminator is a manually operated hard disk drive destroyer. The HDT1 has been specially developed for physically damaging hard drives and other data carriers. After a hard disk drive has been erased with a degausser, it can be perforated quickly and easily with the HDT1 so that the disk is visually verifiable damaged. The combination of erasing (degaussing) and physically damaging hard drives offers the maximum certainty that defective or replaced hard disks no longer contain data and can no longer be accessed.

The ADR HDT1 does not require a power connection. The system is operated manually by means of a lever. When the lever is pulled down, a hardened metal pin pierces the hard disk drive. A force of up to 5 tons is generated. With the HDT1 Terminator it is easy to create multiple holes in a hard drive. The platters, reading head, motor and electronics of the hard disk drive are irreparably damaged.

The ADR HDT1 Terminator can also be used to physically damage other data carriers such as SSD's, mobile phones and flash memory. The maximum height of a data carrier is 2.8 cm.

Due to the compact dimensions of the HDT1, hard disk drives can be verifiably damaged at any location. The system requires a minimum amount of power by the user and can therefore be operated by everyone.
