Introduction

The Depei SDP-01 is a pulse degausser for erasing hard disk drives and data tapes. The Depei SDP-01 degausser uses a very powerful electromagnetic discharge (capacitive discharge) of up to 12,500 Gauss. This allows information on hard drives (2+ TB) and magnetic tapes to be removed quickly and safely.

The Depei SDP-01 degausser can be used stand-alone or PC-connected. With the included Log Software, comprehensive information about each degauss cycle can be stored for auditing or reporting purposes. The Depei SDP-01 can optionally be supplied with a barcode kit. This kit consists of a barcode scanner and a label printer. With the label printer an identification label can be printed for every deleted hard disk drive. The Depei SDP-01, the barcode scanner and the label printer are connected to a PC via an USB cable.

Hard disk drives or tapes are placed in the drawer on the front of the SDP-01 degausser. The extra-large input tray of the SDP-01 offers space for two 3.5" hard drives or even eight 2.5" hard drives. This allows multiple hard disk drives to be deleted simultaneously. After the drawer is closed, the degauss cycle can be started by pressing the LCD touchscreen. The LCD display shows the status of the degauss cycle. As soon as the Depei SDP-01 indicates that the degauss cycle has been successfully completed, the drawer can be opened and the disk removed. The degauss cycle takes less than 20 seconds.

The Depei SDP-01 degausser has a continuous duty cycle of 50 discharges and can handle up to 200 3.5" hard disk drives per hour. In addition to 3.5", 2.5"and 1.8" hard drives, the SDP-01 is also suitable for erasing most magnetic tape formats. A special transport case is optionally available for transporting the Depei SDP-01 degausser.
