The Garner HD-2X-e IRONCLAD combines the compact HD-2X-e degausser with the IRONCLAD verification system. The Garner HD-2X-e degausser is suitable for fast and effective erasure of hard disk drives and tapes. The system works very simple; place a hard drive in the tray and close it. The HD-2X-e IRONCLAD will then automatically charge and send a very strong electromagnetic pulse of at least 10,000 Gauss through the hard disk. This discharge (Capacitive Discharge) is powerful enough to erase hard disks of 2 TB and larger.

The Garner IRONCLAD system consists of an automatic camera module, a touchscreen control panel, a barcode scanner and the Garner Erasure Report software. Information from each hard drive such as serial number, date/time and user ID is recorded prior to degaussing via the software and scanner. After degaussing, the camera module takes a picture of the top of the hard drive. For each degauss cycle, the photograph is added to the log together with the degauss result and the other information entered for auditing or reporting purposes.

In addition to erasing hard drives, the Garner HD-2X-e IRONCLAD is also suitable for erasing various magnetic tapes such as DLT, LTO, 3590, 8mm and more. The Garner HD-2X-e IRONCLAD can erase a hard disk or tape in 60 seconds. To ensure that information on hard disk drive and tapes is effectively removed HD-2X-e has a number of built-in security measures; the degausser checks the stored power for each cycle. A built-in sensor also measures the magnetic field with each discharge. Any faults are shown via the LCD display. This ensures correct operation of the degausser.

The Garner HD-2X IRONCLAD degausser can optionally be combined with a Garner PD-4-e or PD-5-e Crusher for physically destroying hard disk drives.
