The ASM120 degausser from ProDevice is a powerful pulse degausser with a number of unique features. The ProDevice ASM120 uses a very powerful magnetic discharge (capacitive discharge) of up to 11,000 Gauss. This allows information on hard disk drives (2+ TB) and magnetic tapes to be easily and safely removed.
Hard disks or tapes are placed in the drawer at the front of the ProDevice ASM120. After the drawer is closed, the degauss cycle is started automatically. The LCD display shows the status of the degauss cycle. As soon as the degauss cycle is successfully completed, the drawer can be opened and the media removed. The entire degauss cycle takes about 30 seconds.
The Professional version of the ProDevice ASM120 offers software tools. With the software information stored on the degausser can be retrieved. Date, cycle number and assessment of the discharge can be read out for reporting and auditing purposes. The system stores up to 1000 degauss cycles after which the oldest is overwritten. The ProDevice ASM120 Professional uses a TCP/IP network connection.
The ProDevice ASM120 Professional also offers PPMS technology (Pre-Paid Management System) which allows the system to be used for rental purposes if desired. The system can be managed via the Admin software, even remotely. For example, the maximum number of degauss cycles can be set.
