Introduction

The ASM240 LITE from ProDevice is a powerful pulse degausser for hard disk drives with a number of special functions. The ASM240 LITE degausser differs from the regular ASM240 degausser on a number of points; The "LITE" version has a less powerful electromagnetic discharge (capacitive discharge) of maximum 10,000 Gauss. As a result, the degauss cycle is only 10 seconds and the ProDevice ASM240 LITE degausser can erase up to 360 hard drives (2+ TB) and magnetic tapes per hour.

Hard disks or tapes are inserted into the opening on the side of the ProDevice ASM240 LITE. This automatically starts the degauss cycle. The LCD display shows the status of the degauss cycle. The hard disk is automatically fed through the degausser and as soon as the degauss cycle is successfully completed, the disk is ejected from the degausser on the other side.

The ProDevice ASM240 LITE degausser offers software tools which allows information stored on the degausser to be retrieved. Logfiles can be created with the software tools; Date, cycle number and assessment of the discharge can be read out for reporting and auditing purposes. The ProDevice ASM240 LITE uses a TCP/IP network connection. This makes it possible to operate or monitor a networked ASM240 LITE degausser from anywhere in the world.

The ProDevice ASM240 LITE degausser also offers PPMS technology (Pre-Paid Management System). This allows the system to be used for rental purposes. The system can be managed via the Admin software, even remotely. For example, the maximum number of degauss cycles can be set.
