The Depei CH-M200 DC is an all-in-one solution for destroying hard drives. The system combines a powerful pulse degausser with a mechanical crusher in one housing. The degausser removes all information from the hard disk drives and the crusher causes physical destruction by breaking and bending the hard disks. The Depei CH-M200 DC degausser uses a very powerful electromagnetic discharge (capacitive discharge) of up to 12,500 Gauss. This allows information on hard disk drives (2+ TB) and magnetic tapes to be removed quickly and safely.
A hard disk drive is placed in the front drawer of the CH-M200 DC degausser. The extra-large input tray of the CH-M200 DC offers space for two 3.5" hard disks or even eight 2.5" hard disks. This allows multiple hard drives to be deleted simultaneously. After the drawer is closed, the degauss cycle can be started by pressing the LCD touchscreen. The LCD display shows the status of the degauss cycle. As soon as the CH-M200 DC indicates that the degauss cycle has been successfully completed, the drawer can be opened and the disk removed. The degauss cycle takes less than 20 seconds.
After the degauss cycle, the deleted hard disk drive can be placed in the front opening of the crusher. The hard drive is cracked along the length using a metal wedge. This bends and breaks data platters, housing, reading heads and electronics. The Depei CH-M200 DC crusher supports the DIN66399 H-3 security level.
The CH-M200 DC can optionally be supplied with a Barcode Kit. This kit consists of PC software, a barcode scanner and a label printer. With the log software extensive information about each degauss cycle can be stored for auditing or reporting purposes. With the label printer an identification label can be printed for every deleted hard disk drive. The Depei CH-M200 DC, the barcode scanner and the label printer are connected to a PC via a USB cable.
The Depei CH-M200 DC degausser has a duty cycle of 50 discharges and can process up to 100 3.5" hard disk drives per hour. Besides 3.5", 2.5"and 1.8" hard drives, the CH-M200 DC is also suitable for erasing most magnetic tape formats. The CH-M200 DC crusher has a capacity of up to 60 hard drives per hour.
