The V91 DLT/LTO degausser from VS Security Products has been developed specifically for the erasure of DLT and LTO tapes. In addition, this universal, powerful degausser is suitable for almost all other existing magnetic tapes and cassettes. This makes the V91 DLT/LTO a true universal tape degausser. The VS Security Products V91 DLT/ LTO degausser works with an internal electromagnet that generates a strong, continuous magnetic field. The magnetic field is oriented so that it is at maximum just above the surface of the V91 DLT/LTO degausser. Tapes and floppy disks are professionally erased by moving them over the top of the V91 DLT/LTO degausser through the magnetic field. This resets the polarity of the metal particles and completely removes the previously recorded signal.
The powerful electromagnet of the V91 DLT/LTO has a magnetic force of up to 5,100 Gauss. This means that almost all existing magnetic tape media can be erased quickly, safely and professionally. Erasing a DLT or LTO tape takes about 12 seconds. With the non-continuous cycle of the V91 DLT/LTO, about 80 DLT or LTO tapes per hour can be erased.
A special transport case is optionally available for transport of the V91 DLT/LTO degausser.
